What is DirectData?

DirectData is a web-based interface offered by Sabre Airline Solutions (under the GetThere brand) to provide airlines the ability to derive increased benefits from its DirectAirline, Sabre Web Sales Engine, and SabreSonic Web internet booking engines.

The DirectData interface allows other systems to securely access the raw booking and user profile data captured during the process of selling tickets online. The ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze this data on-demand can be leveraged to increase marketing effectiveness and boost ticket sales. It can also be used to optimize many facets of your operating performance of your network by highlighting travel trends and buying patterns, and enabling improved forecasting and planning.

DirectData provides the ability to regularly poll Sabre's booking engine servers as frequently as every five minutes and as infrequently as once a week to get information on what tickets were sold, to where, to whom, and for how much. This Passenger Name Record (PNR) data contains the details captured during the online booking including the fare breakdown, frequent flyer information, online membership program information, and specifics about each flight segment.
 
 
What is the Equinox Extract/Reporting Engine for DirectData?

The Equinox Extract/Reporting Engine was developed in cooperation with GetThere (Sabre Airline Solutions) and comprises two component modules: the Extract Module and the Reporting Module.

The Extract module manages the secure communication link to the DirectData interface and organizes the incoming XML data stream containing the PNR and other valuable booking information into an historical booking database.

Some of the comprehensive information captured by the Extract Module:
 
  PNR Identifiers — date/time stamp, purchaser, CRS locator, booking site, current booking state.
 
  Passengers — first/last names, FFP data.
 
  User Profiles — first/last name, company, address, phone, and e-mail address of the purchaser.
 
  Frequent Flyer — numbers and FF plans for each passenger.
 
  Fare Summary — base fare, total fare, type of currency (the Extract Module is able to convert point of sale currencies into your choice of base reporting currencies).
 
  Segments — detailed data for each segment specifics such as city, arrival/departure date/time, airport code and name, airline code and name, seating, travel class, stops.
 
 
  The Reporting Module generates reports from the database of extracted PNR data. It enables automatic and scheduled distribution of reports by email, and is easily configured to provide a web-based user interface to allow you to generate ad hoc and customized marketing reports.

As an option, or for those with infrastructure challenges, Equinox also gives you the choice of installing the Extract/Reporting Engine on its own servers and can provide different levels of monthly service.

Equinox can offer the full Extract/Reporting Engine functionality as an Application Service Provider, in which case, your team is provided access to a secure web-based user interface offering private access to the data on our servers. It also provides the ability to set up automated email reports and to generate customized ad hoc reports.
